Lavrio Port - How to get there

Lavrio Port picture

Located about 60 km southeast of downtown Athens, the coastal city of Lavrio was famous in antiquity for its silver mines, which were one of the primary sources of revenue for the Athenian state. Today, it's a charming city and seaport, serving as the third-largest passenger port in Attica. The port provides connections to the Greek islands of Kea (also known as Tzia) and Kythnos, as well as ports in the northeastern Aegean Sea, including Lemnos and Kavala.

Lavrio boasts a rich history and offers visitors a wide range of options for food (especially seafood), culture (multiple festivals), and history and science (the Lavrio Mines Museum).
